Basic Electronics, Soldering, Breadboarding, Introduction to embedded controllers,
First, Mr Rodney went through how electricity works, how current flows and types of electrical currents.
He then went through the types of electrical laws Kirchhoff's Laws and Ohm's Law
Kirchhoff's Laws
Ohm's Law
We also learnt the main types of electrical components some of which can be seen below.
So for this controller, Mr Rodney taught us about using Arduino and the Arduino software to program the board to do things when an input is recognized, and turning it into an output. For example, turning on a light when a button is pressed.
Below can be seen the Arduino Controller as well as its working components.
Arduino Uno
Arduino boards are able to read inputs - light on a sensor, a finger on a button, - and turn it into an output - activating a motor, turning on an LED, publishing something online.
We must not forget the Arduino software that will be used in this.
The Arduino software is easy-to-use for beginners, yet flexible enough for advanced users. It runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux. Teachers and students use it to build low cost scientific instruments, to prove chemistry and physics principles, or to get started with programming and robotics.

A passive infrared sensor (PIR sensor) is an electronic sensor that measures infrared (IR) light radiating from objects in its field of view.

To display characters when programmed to do so.
LCD Display
A NeoPixel is just a name that Adafruit uses to refer to a bunch of different RGB individually addressable LEDs. We're using a NeoPixel that is using a WS2812 RGB individually addressable LED. The LED itself has three inputs and three outputs.
Neopixel Lights
DC motors normally have just two leads, one positive and one negative. If you connect these two leads directly to a battery, the motor will rotate.
Used to make a variety of moving projects
Arduino Motor
There are many other Arduino components but these are just a few that I listed in which I experimented with in class.
However, we must NOT forget the most important piece, the breadboard. Which acts as a link for electrical current to flow to these components.
